I offer the following consultation services
and technical support for attorneys:

  • Identifying and preparing expert witnesses for asylum/WOR/CAT - Mexico cases. I can assist you by identifying qualified experts; working with and preparing expert declarations and testimony (preparing direct examination and  potential issues that can appear in cross examination); negotiating expert fees; and preparing motions for telephonic testimony, if no in-person testimony can be offered by the expert. I assist by identifying relevant background evidence and Mexico country conditions reports that can support your legal case theory.

  • Identifying and preparing claims for relief for mental health asylum/WOR/CAT claims - all countries of origin. If you have a client who suffers severe mental illness, there is a chance that they might suffer persecution in their country of origin by reason of their mental health. I have ample experience litigating and successfully obtaining relief on these claims. I can assist you through articulation and briefing on PSGs and likelihood of future persecution/torture and obtaining relevant background evidence and country conditions reports. I can assist you in identifying, working with and preparing country condition experts that can testify about the treatment of individuals with mental illnesses in their country of origin, negotiating fees, and preparing motions for telephonic testimony, in case no in-person testimony can be offered. I can assist you in articulating an overall legal strategy for these clients, including preparing release plans for bond hearings and representing them in criminal or mental health court.

  • I am an attorney licensed to practice in any state in Mexico and in the state of California. If your client needs to initiate judicial proceedings that involve civil or family matters (such as divorces or adoptions) or resolve property issues in Baja California Family/Civil Courts or proceedings before the Public Registry in Baja California (e.g., apostilles) I will be happy to represent them.  I am seeking to expand these services outside of Baja California Courts. While I do so, please consider consulting with me for any need or question your client has regarding how to navigate the Mexican legal system, and identify for your clients the governmental and non-governmental agencies that can assist them in Mexico.

  • Consultations on Mexican Law and Procedure. The Mexican legal system can be difficult to navigate for US attorneys because it is a civil-based legal system, and many matters, such as civil, family and property law are subject to federal, state and municipal laws and judicial precedent. I offer consultation services that can assist you in navigating any issue that pertains to Mexican federal, state or municipal laws and procedures.

  • Because my immigration practice is concentrated on removal proceedings, I am frequently in Court. I can assist you with court appearances in Adelanto, Los Angeles and Van Nuys. My clients are detained in Adelanto, Mesa-Verde, Otay-Mesa and Imperial Regional Detention Center, so I will be happy to assist you with any emergency attorney-visits as well.
